After the Lugaw Feeding Project last April 16, 2010 fed 300 children, www.pinoysignal.com "Lugaw Para sa Bata Feeding Project" conducted another feeding in Sitio Vallarta, Infanta, Pangasinan. Initiated by Team Kabsat, in cooperation of Team Kabsat's Circle of Friends inInfanta, Pangasinan, there were 120 children benefited from the Lugaw Project. Abigail Cerdan and Ma. Joesa Torres, who were both residents of Sitio Vallarta said that there are many children in their place, whose parents depend only onfishing. Once the province is affected by typhoon, only few fishermen dare to go on the deep seas to catch fish. Without these fishes, some families will not have enough food to eat because they did not have enough catch to sell. Cerdan and Torres explained that there are other places in their town, where they want to benefit from the Lugaw Feeding project because even the project is small, it helps. "What is important to me is these children are happy everytime Lugaw is served to them, " Torres said. "We even ran out of spoons during the feeding time because some parents did not bring their own spoons. To remedy, we cut banana leaves, took the middle stalk, cut them like a spoon, and washed, for the children to eat the Lugaw," Torres explained. Cerdan added, "I saw one child who sat beside the pot where we cooked the Lugaw and still trying to scrape off the last amount of Lugaw he can get." Cerdan and Torres cooked the Lugaw for these children and to their surprise, some parents volunteered to wash the utensils used and fixed the whole place where the feeding was conducted.
